Cole and Laurie--July 27, 2008

Hey everyone! I know some of you have been worried since I have not posted this weekend, but we have had computer problems (this time it was not the me, believe it or not!) and Cole was here, which left little time to deal with computer issues! He was more interested in going shopping to get supplies for "big school"!

Laurie seems to be slowly recovering from the pneumonia and the stress of Thursday's testing! She is back to full feeds of 12 cc every 3 hours and weighed 1lb. and 11 oz. last night! She will have a few more days on the antibiotics, but has completed the IVIG and fluids. She had another blood transfusion (16 cc) today. Hopefully, this will help increase the red blood cells that carry oxygen, making it easier for her to breathe. Overall, she has had a good day today.

Thanks for caring and keeping up with Laurie's progress each day! It helps make us stronger to know that we have so much support, love, and prayers at home! Please continue to pray for Laurie to grow stronger and that her lungs will continue to develop!

Hope you have a great week!
Love,
Todd, Leah, Cole, and Laurie

Todd, Leah, Cole and the rest of the family: I want you to know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Prayer is amazing and I want you to continue to believe in Him. I used to work with Mr. Rex and thought the word of him. I feel like you are all part of my family. Ms. Judy has been keeping me up-to-date the best she can. I have been sharing your story with others so they may pray for Laurie also. She is so beautiful! Take care, Dawn, Ronny and Hilton Lunsford

So glad to hear that Laurie is doing better and has had a couple of restful days. Excited to hear about the weight gain!! Hopefully she just needed a few days of rest and will be ready to come off the vent this week. Know you had fun with Cole this weekend. Its hard to believe that he's going to "Big school" this year. Time flies!!

Leah,
It was so good to get your report today. I know it has been wonderful having the family together this weekend. The picture of big brother and baby sister is precious, and she is growing and getting stronger little by little. Praise God for the baby steps!

I love the new picture! Is Laurie
looking at Cole? It looks like it!
And he looks like a big kindergartener! I know he's excited! I am excited about Laurie's weight gain and hope she
maintains it and kicks that old
bad pneumonia soon. We are praying
all throughout the day for her.
I hope you'll swing by to see us at
school when you come for Cole's
first day if all goes well!
Lots of love, Nancy

That picture is precious. You can see how tiny she is compared to her brother, who I can hardly believe is going to kindergarten! It seems like just a few weeks ago that he was in my 2 yr old Sunday School class - and now Kindergarten?!

Your family is in our continued prayers as we pray that the Lord slowly heals sweet Laurie and lifts you when you are weak and weary.

Much love and prayers,
Natasha Chalker
