"Pretty in Pink" July 21, 2008

Hi everyone! Well, we could not get in to see Laurie today until about 11:15 am due to the RNICU being closed for other sick babies. When we were able to go in, we ended up staying with her for several hours because she still has not stabilized her rate, pressure, and oxygen settings. Therefore, they have not been able to wean her vent very much. They have discontinued her antibiotics today and she is still tolerating her feedings of 12 cc every 3 hrs. She still weighed 1 lb. 5 oz. last night. Laurie has been able to rest today and hopefully regain some strength after having her right lung collapse yesterday. Thanks for all your support and prayers! Please continue to pray for her lungs to develop and for her to be able to come off the vent again very soon!

Love to all!
Todd, Leah, Cole, and Laurie

Leah, I was starting to get a little anxious since the blog had not been updated today. So I called your mom to get an update. I am sure time is limited to complete the blog...thank you for keeping us informed with the blog and the picture of Laurie is wonderful! She is a doll! Keep your faith!

Hi!
I was told of you and your preemie through a preemie group on Cafe Mom. I am also the mom to a miracle preemie, Tristan, born 12 weeks too soon at 28 weeks, he was in the NICU for 5 months. Please come by my blog and see his pictures. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have been exactly where you are and the pictures brought back memories but God is in control and he does great things.

Take Care
Shannon

What a pretty girl! We are praying!
And tonight at church we were reminded of the importance of praising God and remembering all
the great battles He's already won
for you. Praise is a powerful weapon and it builds your faith! So keep up the good work!
Love ya! Nancy

Hello,
I am a friend of Ms. Judy's. You are a part of a wonderful family!! Your little Laurie is so precious. I look forward to checking your blog each day to see the progress your little angel is making. May God bless each of you and give you strength to trust Him. You all remain in my thoughts and prayers. Please give Mrs. Judy a hug for me.

Todd, We are all praying for you, Leah, Cole and Laurie. I pray that from this moment on, Laurie will get stonger every day. I also ask that God give you, Leah and all of your family strength to endure what you are and have been going through. May God bless and keep you!

Hello Laurie's Family!

How adorable Miss Laurie looks in her pink! I added Laurie and your family to the prayer chains here in Alaska. I know she certainly has the hearts of so many people and is in immeasurable prayers.
Thanks for taking the time to keep us updated. These blogs are such a wonderful way to feel close even when we are so far away.
Although I have not written before now, I have been following your blog since the beginning but keep forgetting my password - that is so me.(Oh, you can send Cole up here to stay with me for a while! We could take him on a real bear hunt!)
