Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't get to blog yesterday! I was experiencing technical difficulties with the computer! For those of you who know me well or work with me this should not be a big surprise (Weedie, where are you?--I can't even blame my Kindergarteners' now!). Laurie continues to do well! She is still on the C-pap, with a few ups and downs on the oxygen levels. They did have to start an IV to give her fluids. She also had another blood transfusion yesterday (15cc). The doctors did not make any changes with her today at rounds. Her feeds were changed to 11 cc yesterday and will stay the same today. She weighed 1 lb. 4 oz. last night, but this is likely due to all the fluids added yesterday. She was resting comfortably on her tummy when Emily and I left this morning! Hopefully, we will just have another quiet day for Laurie to grow and develop.

Thanks to all of you who are keeping up with Laurie's progress and sending us blogs. It is great to have contact with the "outside" world!! We have enjoyed hearing from old and new friends--it reminds us how truly blessed we are! Please continue to pray for all four of us--we see them being answered daily!!!

Love,
Todd, Leah, Cole, and Laurie

I'm relieved to see you posted today...I was wondering if you'd had a difficult day or if it was
computer probs. Yes, I would know
to wonder that..ha,ha. I'm happy to
see Laurie gained an ounce and that
they are attentive to her every need. Keep on keeping on. Love,
Nancy

Leah,
Thanks for the update on baby Laurie today. We have been praying for all of you and keeping up with everything on your blog. Thank you for keeping all of us up to date on that beautiful baby girl. The power of prayer is so Awesome!
Your strength in all of this is inspiring.
Tell Cole that Jillian missed him at Sunday school and that she has her first loose tooth. Every time I look at her she is wiggling it. Daddy's going to have to pull it, though. Don't know if I can do it.
Don't know if y'all got the message, but we have use of an airplane and would be happy to fly you or Todd to or from Enterprise if needed. Jeff Fields has our number. Call if we can help in any way.
Love to all of you,
The McCarleys

You did give us a little scare when we didn't get a blog yesterday. Bre has an Iphone and checks your blog daily. She called me all day yesterday letting me know that there was no postingand had I heard anything? We are thanking God for another good day. Thanks for sharing the updates. We would love to be there but know that you all are with us in thought and prayers. If we can do anything tell your Mom or Aunt Judy. Hope to visit soon.
Love,
Dawn

Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl. Kevin told me about it and about the blogspot. I've read all the postings since she was born and it is so awesome what God has already done. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. I'm looking forward to seeing the latest beautiful addition to the Killingsworth family.

Dear Leah,

I am a cousin of Scott and Natasha Chalker at your church. Scott's sister, Mandy sent me the information about you and Laurie because we had a similar experience almost 10 years ago when our triplets were born at 28 weeks gestation. Mandy thought that we could offer you some encouragement because we have experienced many of the ups and downs you are struggling through now. Our "babies" are doing extremely well and will soon be starting the 4th grade. My email is corson.melissa@gmail.com if you have questions or would like to talk. While my babies were in the hospital another mother recommended a book to me called Your Premature Baby by Frank P. Manginello, MD. I was able to buy it at the gift shop of our hospital. Your NICU nurses may be able to suggest a similar book. It discussed the routine care of preemies as well as some of the common complications. All three of my babies had a PDA ligation at one week old and one of my girls had laser surgery on her eyes for retinopathy of prematurity at about two months old. Having read the book and having at least a basic understanding of the necessary procedures helped me feel a little more in control when the doctors came to me and said these things needed to be done right away.
From what I read in your blog, Laurie seems to be doing extremely well and I am sure you are receiving excellent care in Birmingham.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you as you wait for Laurie to grow and gain strength.
