September 30, 2008

Hello everyone! I am posting today while sitting at Laurie's bedside. She is now sleeping after enjoying her 3:30 bottle. There have not been any changes with Laurie's care plan today. Although she did gain a few grams last night, her weight stayed at 5 lbs. 1 oz. Laurie's oxygen has remained at about 30% on 1 liter with the nasal canula. She continues to have a few de-sats, but has not had any bradys since coming off the aminophylline last week. We are continuing to try weaning her off the nasal canual, otherwise Laurie is ready to come home! Mrs. Judy and I have attended the discharge class and Mom will be here tomorrow to attend the class. Although we are getting very excited about bringing Laurie home, we would love to be able to leave without any oxygen support (so we are probably still looking at another week or two)! Please continue to pray for Laurie's vision, hearing, and breathing!

Love,
Todd, Leah, Cole, and Laurie

Laurie looks so sweet in her
jammies. It won't be long now!
I'll be praying about her getting
off of the oxygen and getting where
you'll feel confident in caring for
her. But remember what the nurse
told you and go when they say go.
God will take care of her and will
calm your fears. You can do it!
"I can do ALL things through Christ
which strengthens me." He'll give
you strength, and He'll make you
stronger for having been through
it! Love ya, Nancy

Father,

I thank You for the healing that we see taking place in little Laurie’s life. Each day we have seen You demonstrate Your healing power. We continue to pray in faith asking You to continue to help Laurie’s lungs develop that she might breathe without any assistance. Lord, touch her eyes that she might see perfectly and her ears that she would hear even the littlest sound. Oh Father, we pray that everyday she would gain weight and that her doctors would just be amazed at her progress. May all who she her recognize her as being another miracle from You. Lord, continue to give Leah strength. I know that there are times when she feels so weary and that she can’t go on. Please continue to empower her each day. Be with Todd as he strives to take care of things back home and continue to be with Cole. I know he misses his mommy and wants her and Laurie home soon. You have been so good and for that we are all forever grateful! Father, we give You all the glory, honor and praise for what You’ve done, are doing and will do! AMEN!!

Yeah! I am so happy for you all and for Laurie's progress. She's come such a long way. Prayer truly works! Congrats on being a new aunt! Looks like both babies will be coming home around the same time. Won't your family be busy!?
