Good evening! Laurie and I have had another good day in Birmingham! We enjoyed having Todd, Cole, and MeMa here with us over the weekend (although Cole was not able to go in and see Laurie because he continues to have sinus and allergy problems)! As you can see from the pictures we were able to take Cole to a playground, so the boys could play a little football! Laurie has not had any changes in her care plan. She continues to take her bottle feedings of 45 cc every 3 hours. She lost an ounce last night, weighing 5 lbs. 1 oz. Now our goal is to get Laurie breathing without the nasal canula. She is so close, but often just needs the stimulation of the oxygen flow provided by the canula. We are trying to keep her on as little oxygen as possible, so not to cause any more damage to her eyes. The ophthalmologist will also be back this week to continue monitoring her.
